Rafael Lovato Jr. received his black belt under Carlos Machado, making him and his father Rafael Lovato Sr. the first American father-son pair to both become BJJ black belts; the elder Lovato also received promotions from the Ribeiro brothers, Saulo and Xande. Founded in Oklahoma City in 1993, the school maintains ties to the Six Blades team.
