Renzo Gracie opened his first Manhattan academy in 1996 and effectively pioneered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in New York. The Midtown "Blue Basement" has trained a long list of world champions and UFC fighters and anchors the global Renzo Gracie affiliate network.
